Really varied and pretty cool. I'd say I've been searching for this for a long time as well but I've never even heard of it before. I think I need to be over in the remedial punk history classroom for dumb Anglophones.

Does anyone know anything about this band? How do you search for S.I.B. on Google? Are we sure they're Italian? Singer sounds like Poly Styrene.

Felipe, as long as you're on your Italian kick can you track down a compilation album by Hitler S.S. called "Pordenone's Guys"? I remember really liking their tracks on the split with Tampax.

I read somewhere that the singer was English, hence the impression of a non-Italian band... (Poly Styrene, yeah... but Alice Bag too, at least in some songs) Not many info around really (and yes looking for SIB with google, ahem...)
I just found they came from Forli, Cesena, and SIB means Swelling Itching Brain (d-e-v-o!), here

But no more info there...
Saludos,
Fernando :)

Thanks Fernando. I'd just managed to convince myself that I was mistaken about the English accent, now I'll have to convince myself back. Alice Bag is a closer comparison than Poly Styrene.

Wow!!! I'm quite surprised to find the S.I.B album on a Brazilian Blog 'cause I was the lead guitar player of this band and I don't even have my vynil anymore. As told by someone on previous commentary we were based in Cesena with the exception of the singer Tracy (R.I.P. 2007) who came from Forlì (less than 20 km away).
I still have a cassette of this album (taped from the original master reel just hours before it was sent to the vynil factory) that sounds better than the final product. I did upload it along with some more tracks from rehearsals, live, pictures, flyers etc here:

I don't have any spare time to run a blog page so anybody who runs one can feel free to use this link on it.

Of course I give my compliments to Felipe, your blog is amazing, I find lots of records that send me back to my younger years...

Hi, there's a reference to Tracy of the S.I.B on the back cover of the U.K.Subs bootleg album "Dance & Travel In The Robot Age" recorded at the Milan Palalido in 1980. Is this the same S.I.B? May explain the English sounding female vocalist!
Check out the cover at

SWEET! I just got a vinyl-to-CD recorder, but my S.I.B. record has black mold on the cover, and will require some cleaning. This enables me to get to the sounds that much quicker!
