No comment still for this one? I think this is one of the best Italian pre-HC punk records! Obvious Slits/Raincoats inspiration with Poly Styrene vocals. They were from Milano... Apparently a major label (Polydor) was interested in the singer (Jo Squillo) and the band split and a new one was formed, Jo Squillo Eletrix, which released an LP s/t aka "Girl senza paura" (it'd be great to have that one around here Felipe, ahem...) that has nice songs like Skizzo Skizzo and Violentami (w/ an interesting rip-off of Blitzkrieg Bop's riff). But after that everything went downhill..., Squillo went more and more commercial, recording with Sabrina (of Boys Boys Boys fame), hymns about bras and making TV programs about vogue and such. There's lots of info around but now I can't find the links Saludos, Fernando :)
i was planing to post the Jo Squillo Eletrix LP, but it has been already posted at Laltritalia
so, here's the link http://laltritalia.wordpress.com/2008/04/20/music-jo-squillo-eletrix-girl-senza-paura-1981/
and about the Kandeggina Gang itself, i really like this one, but i couldn't find any interesting info about them... just some infos at forum (mainlly in italian)
I can't thank you enough for that link Felipe! Not only the Squillo LP is there but also true rarities like the Pordenone comp (that has tracks from ex-HitlerSS guys for instance), the Rat's LP and more. Furthermore, through the links there I found a blog where there was the full discography 3cd of Franti! Couldn't believe it! Thanks!!! Love you Felipe :D Saludos, Fernando :)
PS Oh yeah the stuff I mentioned was all in Italian if memory serves. Not difficult to find googling Kandeggina or Jo Squillo. Btw there's a good Squillo story in English in the blog you sent me to.
